Always count on them being open and generally having everything you need. Yes its not going to be cheaper than Tesco etc (sometimes is) but if you wanted cheap you would have got in your car and driven to ALDI.Lovely staff and always happy to help
Thought I'd found a lovely new shop to visit. The shop it's self was great but when i got to the till and was asked if i needed any bags I said no thank you I have my own cloth bag but it would be great if you could put the whole chicken in a thin bag as it was damp on the bottom and I didn't want it put in my own bag unwrapped. I was met by this young dark haired girl (about 19 years) ignoring me while carrying on chatting to the male on the other till, charging me 10p for a big carrier bag. When i questioned her she said in a stroppy voice, we don't have any free bags, not even for raw chicken? I felt shocked at her rude look and rude response and feel that any other shop would be happy to put a whole raw chicken in a protective bag. I told her that i did not ask for a 10p bag and I felt it wrong to charge people 10p to wrap raw chicken. In the end she reluctantly agreed to take the 10p off. I thanked her and as i walked away I was met by her sacristic voice shouting "Have a nice day!" Shame as I liked the shop but sadly wont be returning.
It's always good to have Budgens close to my house and their staff is usually friendly. The opening hours are good and they have saved our lifes a few times as we ran out of something. The only bad thing is the price which is a bit too much but sometimes they have good offers so I would recommend. They also have the post office which is really handy.
